G-d created the woman in such a way that with her very being she inherently has a tremendous capacity to give and nurture. Just look at her womb which has the potential to house another life for nine months!
The one thing that woman fail to realize however is that in order to take care and nurture another soul, you need to first take care of your own…In order to, not instead of!
The Sages refer to the married woman not as “my wife, but my home.” If a woman is a home, physically and spiritually and if a woman has the capacity to give and comfort, then just as a home with a broken door and broken windows can neither contain warmth nor keep out the cold, so too a woman who doesn’t do her part or effort (hishtaldus) to take care of her physical (eat properly and balanced, drink water, exercise, sleep adequately, etc.) and spiritual needs (pray, listen to classes (shiurim), work on faith (emunah), etc.) cannot as well.
Take one moment of your business day. Lie down on the floor or on your bed and put your hands on your lower belly, over your womb. Focus for one moment on your potential and your capacity to give and nurture. Now, as your hands rest on your belly mother yourself. Love yourself. Nurture yourself. Think about one aspect of your life where you can strengthen yourself, making your vessel (cli) stronger.
